On Oct 5, LDA President Pat Smith joined Dr. Dan Cameron (NY) and Kristen Reihman (PA) at Sussex County Community College in Sussex County, NJ to discuss ticks and tick-borne diseases. Ms. Smith, the keynote, presented a PowerPoint featuring 20 tick-borne diseases in the US and focused in on NJ diseases and ticks, including the newly invasive longicornis tick that is self-cloning. About 150 people attended the first event on TBD held at the College and a speaker from Rutgers discussed the habitat and life cycle of ticks.
