Clinical Trials Network Announces Third Round of Pilot Study Proposal Submissions

Columbia University Irving Medical Center’s Clinical Trials Network (CTN) for Lyme and Other Tick-Borne Diseases, established with a grant from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation to Columbia University, has announced the third round of Pilot Study Proposal submissions. Clinicians, researchers, and investigators from educational institutions are welcome to submit proposals.

The CTN aims to promote small-scale studies involving human treatment of Lyme and other tick-related diseases. These small studies will establish the potential for larger investigations. The preliminary pilot studies are intended to evaluate safety and viability, are exploratory in nature, and are not expected to answer the same queries as larger-scale randomized control trials.

  • Submissions will be accepted from January 15 – March 15, 2023.
  • The proposals are usually 1-3 pages in length; longer proposals will also be accepted for review.
  • Each pilot study will be conducted at one of the CTN investigation sites.
  • The CTN has funding to support 1-2 small pilot studies, annually.

The CTN Study Review Committee will review and consider submissions for the potential to be further developed into a pilot study.
