Long COVID and Long Lyme: Mental Health Implications

BIO

Brian Fallon, MD, MPH directs the Lyme & Tick-Borne Diseases Research Center and the Clinical Trials Network Coordinating Center for Tick-borne Disease at the Columbia University Irving Medical Center. As Professor of Clinical Psychiatry, Dr. Fallon’s research has focused on neuropsychiatric Lyme disease (neuroimaging and treatment) as well as on clinical trials related to anxiety, somatic, and obsessional disorders. Dr. Fallon has received numerous NIH and foundation grants, served as an advisor for DSM-5 and on HHS Tick-borne Diseases Working Group subcommittees and on the planning committee for the National Academy for Science, Engineering, and Medicine workshop on infection-associated chronic illnesses. Dr. Fallon currently serves on the NIH steering committee for clinical trials conducted under the COVID-19 RECOVER Initiative. Dr. Fallon received his BA from Harvard College, MD and MPH from Columbia University. and completed his residency training and NIH-sponsored research fellowship at Columbia University and the NYS Psychiatric Institute.
