Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation are teaming up with Facebook to match up to $2 million in funds raised for nonprofits in the U.S. #GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized
shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Facebook will match $1 million in donations to U.S. nonprofits—up to $50,000 per nonprofit and $1,000 per fundraiser or donate button—and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will also kick in $1 million.
