Dr. Davey currently serves as the Program Manager for both the Joint War fighter Medical Research Program (JWMRP) and the Tick-Borne Disease Research Program (TBDRP), within the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs, U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command.
As Program Manager, Dr. Davey provides strategic coordination for the execution and management of JWMRP and TBDRP Congressional appropriations. The JWMRP supports the continuation of ongoing DOD-funded research and development projects to help bridge the transition to advanced product development and ultimately get military medical solutions to the Warfighter faster and better. The TBDRP aims to fund research toward developing innovative solutions to prevent, diagnose, and treat the manifestations of Lyme disease and other tick-borne illness and conditions for the benefit of Service Members and the American public.
As a former Program Area Liaison for the Military Infectious Diseases Research Program/Joint Program Committee-2 (JPC-2) and the Radiation Health Effects Research Program/JPC-7, she facilitated JPC-funded efforts under the Defense Medical Research and Development Program, providing programmatic support and overseeing research awards in these areas. Dr. Davey was a member of the Department of Health and Human Services Tick-Borne Disease Working Group for the development of the 2020 Report to Congress.
Dr. Davey holds a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry from the Pennsylvania State University in 2009. She earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Shepherd University in 2003. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) in the Laboratory of Immunogenetics and a fellowship in the NIAID Office of Technology Development before joining the CDMRP in 2013. Dr. Davey is currently a member of the Army Acquisition Workforce and holds a Level 3 certification in Science & Technology Management.
