Speakers Address Educational Needs of Multi Systemic Illness using Lyme as Model

LDA provided an educational grant to support speakers at the 2010 Annual Conference of the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA) on March 11th -14th St. Louis, Missouri, Sandy Berenbaum, LCSW, BCD, Judith Leventhal, PhD, and Patricia Exman, Education Advocate will be presenting “Complex Multi-System Medical Illness: Educational Needs and Advocacy Strategies.” Using Lyme disease as the model, the presentation will provide information about the complexity of symptoms and resulting cognitive and functional impairments that can interfere with a child’s ability to learn and attend school regularly. Lyme Disease Association and Time for Lyme are co-sponsoring an exhibit table at the Conference. Please refer to the COPAA website�for conference details.
