New Lyme Guidelines on National Guidelines Clearing House

NGC headerThe London-based National Guideline Centre has published new guidelines for treating Lyme disease on the National Guidelines Clearing House. The Guidelines appear similar in nature to the IDSA Guidelines and will not provide a benefit to patients with chronic Lyme disease. They generally provide for a 21 day treatment regimen.

According to its website, the National Guideline Centre (NGC) is commissioned by the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to develop and produce evidence based guidelines, is hosted by the Royal College of Physicians (RCP) and is one of the largest clinical guideline development organizations in the world. It has governance partnerships with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, Royal College of General Practitioners, Royal College of Nursing and the RCP.
