National Community Engagement Initiative Meeting Scheduled for TBDs
The US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has announced a “Tick-Borne Diseases & Associated Illnesses: National Community Engagement Initiative.” HHS is inviting all interested parties to join in one of the engagement meetings to discuss the serious public health problem of tick-borne diseases. All meetings will take place in San Francisco, CA and Portland, ME.
Topics to be discussed:
- Learn about relevant initiatives and developments
- Hear updates from federal agencies
- Submit questions and provide input about patient concerns and priorities
San Francisco, CA Meeting
The first meeting is scheduled for June 11, 2024, 9:00 am-3:00 pm (PST) at University of California San Francisco, Millberry Union Conference Center, Golden Gate & City Lights Room, 500 Parnassus Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94143

- Deadline: All sign-up requests must be received by 11:59 p.m., ET, Monday, May 27
If more requests to provide verbal public comment are received than can be accommodated during this meeting, speakers will be randomly selected. You will receive notification on the status of your request a week prior to the meeting.
- If you are selected to provide verbal public comment at the meeting, you will be asked to confirm that you are still available to speak during the assigned time. Comments can be given in-person or virtually. Each person will be limited to 3 minutes in order to accommodate as many speakers as possible. Comments should be respectful and relate to the topic of the meeting.

Panel discussion questions will be selected for the Federal representatives to respond to during the June 11th, 2024, meeting. A moderator will ask the panel discussion questions. Panel questions should be respectful and relate to the topic of the meeting.
