Lyme Flash: Race for Research in Philly
Doodle Applications Partner, Kyle Gibbs, wants a cure for Lyme disease since many of his family and friends have it, so he has decided to race for the cure. He has been accepted in the 10 mile 36th annual Blue Cross Broad Street Run in Philadelphia on May 1, 2016.
Because runners have numbered 37,000 in prior races, participation is limited. In 2015, the course was rated as one of the fastest by Runner’s World Magazine according to visitphilly.com.
Since Pennsylvania had the highest case numbers of Lyme disease in 2014, it seems an appropriate place for Kyle to run for dollars for Lyme disease research with the Lyme Disease Association (LDA) as the beneficiary. The LDA has hosted 6 of its 16 continuing medical education conferences for physicians in Philadelphia, and the site of one, The Bellevue, is along the course of the run.
Let’s cheer for Kyle, and help raise funds for research and watch the thermometer rise. Remember, the LDA uses 97% of every dollar raised for its programs of research, education, prevention, and patient support and has had its funded research appear in 36 medical journal articles.
Kyle’s Race raised $1701.11 for the LDA!
