Time Sensitive, Act Now: IDSA Guidelines
As you may know, the IDSA is moving forward revamping its Lyme treatment guidelines. Several Lyme groups including the LDA have been working on different segments of addressing the issues in the guidelines development process. The rights of patients to have a voice in the process and to have physicians knowledgeable about treating chronic Lyme manifestations are two of the areas that need to be examined and rectified. See actions to be taken below. Thank you for participating in this nation-wide effort.
SURVEY FOR INDIVIDUALS
Lyme Disease.org (LDo) has developed an important survey relevant to the proposed IDSA Guidelines revisions. The LDA urges you to read the information on the survey developed by LDo, and if you agree with its intent, meet the criteria, and decide to fill it out, do so immediately as it is time sensitive.
FOR INDIVIDUALS TO MAKE COMMENTS
IDSA is also asking for comments from the public into its process. LymeDisease.org has a series of articles on submitting comments directly on the IDSA’s comment page. The following link will provide an explanation of HOW you must submit.

CURRENT ACTION FOR GROUP LEADERS
The Lyme Disease Association (LDA) has developed two letters about the Guidelines process to be submitted to Congress which it is asking groups to sign onto. If you are a GROUP LEADER and have not received the information as to how to sign on, please email [email protected], give us your group information and ask for sign on information from LDA.
FUTURE ACTION FOR GROUP LEADERS
The Lyme Disease Association (LDA) is working with LDo on a group signon to submit comments to IDSA. Groups will be contacted by LDA shortly.
