Come enjoy a beautiful day on the Jersey Shore and help raise awareness for
Lyme disease by participating in our bike ride/walk fundraising event. Our 3
mile walk or 15 mile bike ride will be fun for the whole family. Working
together we can all make a big impact by raising money for research to fight
this debilitating disease.

be done online, mailed to the above address, or turned in on the day of the
event. Make sure we know the
registrant’s name who is sending in the pledges or being sponsored.

Directions
From the north - take the New Jersey Garden State Parkway south to Exit
117 (sign says Keyport/Hazlet/Route #35). After toll booth bear left onto
Route #36 East (sign says Keyport/Keansburg).
Go approximately 9.5 miles on Route 36E.
After going over the
Highlands
Bridge
, bear right at the sign for
Sandy Hook
Gateway
National Park
. This is the access road and will take you into the park.
Area E is on the right approximately 3 miles after the park entrance.
From
the south – take the New Jersey Garden State Parkway north to exit 105
(sign says Eatontown/Long Branch) Upon exiting, bear right onto Route #36
East. Take Route #36 East
approximately 5 miles until road ends. At this intersection of Route #36
(also called Joline Ave) and
Ocean Avenue
, make a left on to
Ocean Ave.
Take
Ocean Ave
about 6 miles. You will see the
sign for
Sandy Hook
Gateway
National Park
on your right. Bear right into
the park. Area E is on the right approximately 3 miles after the park
entrance.
From Manhattan, NYC - Sandy Hook Gateway National Park is accessible by Ferry from NYC.

Requirements
- Helmets must be worn by
all bike riders.
- Participants must have
signed waiver on file.
- All participants age 13
and under must be accompanied by an adult 18 years or older.
- All walkers and bike
riders must stay on their separate routes for safety reasons.

There is so much to do at this scenic oceanfront park.
At the northern most point of Sandy Hook take a walking tour of
historic
Fort
Hancock
, the gun batteries, and the oldest surviving lighthouse in
America
. Rangers do guided tours on some weekends.
Nearby there are many wonderful restaurants, shopping, antiquing,
other historic sites to visit and lots more.

WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION
AGAINST AND FROM LIABILITY
I fully understand that participating in the “Spotlight on Lyme” bike ride or walk
event can potentially be a hazardous activity presenting risk. For consideration of
participation in the event, I freely accept and voluntarily assume all risks of personal
injury or property damages that may result from my participation in the event.
I, for myself and for anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive, release and discharge the Lyme Disease Association, Inc., each corporate sponsor and cooperating organization, and all other parties connected with this event, of and from any and every claim, demand, action and cause of action, and liability of every kind and nature, for and on account of any and every matter and thing whatsoever arising from or in any manner related to or connected with this event.
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Lyme Disease Association, Inc., each corporate sponsor and cooperating organization, and all other parties connected with this event, against and from any and every claim, demand, action and cause of action, and liability of every kind and nature, brought or to be brought, by me or by any person on my behalf, with respect to any and every matter and thing whatsoever arising from or in any manner related to or connected with this event.
I authorize emergency treatment in the event of injury or illness while participating in the event.
I give permission to use my name and photo taken of me during the event in any promotional material, publication, or on the website.
I understand that all participants age 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult.
I understand that the Lyme Disease Association, Inc., in its sole and absolute discretion, shall have the right to remove anyone who may cause a disturbance from the event.
I certify that I have read and understand the intent of this waiver, release and indemnification.
